COURSE DESCRIPTION

Students will delve into the interdisciplinary field of environmental science.  We will study oceans and atmosphere, human population and biodiversity; and will address problems and solutions related to agriculture, energy and climate change.  30-50% of the course work will be hands on activities, both in class and assigned as homework.  Course curriculum has been designed by the instructor, Jennifer Gentry.  The topics covered model "The Habitable Planet: A Systems Approach to Environmental Science", a curriculum designed for advanced high school or college level students.  Both the breadth and depth of the material will be simplified for our 7th grade students.
